The Health of the Elderly Research Group aims to be the source of relevant and practical knowledge that service providers, formal and informal caregivers, administrators and policy makers use when they are looking for leading edge research on fostering quality of life with the elderly and efficient use of resources. It draws upon its unique situation in both a University and a multi-service care centre. This situation enables the Health of the Elderly Research Group to link closely with community and long term care partners to bring faculty into service delivery, students into service learning and service providers into research and education.
The mission of the group is to improve the quality of life of older adults in the three domains of: senior’s independence, exemplary care, and quality end of life elder care.
